My approach to therapy is concerned with individual growth and the relational needs of a person: the self, others we care about and the things we value and need. My work embraces an interest in creative practices, writing and image making, Buddhism and Existential ideas. I aim to assist you in becoming an authentic and self-accepting individual, who can practice choice over whatever life may throw, with kindness, heart and courage.
“It takes a lot of discipline to become a free spirit.” - Roth
“Between stimulus and response, there is a space...our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.” - Frankl
By understanding your unique experience and view of the world, I hold a safe, warm, nurturing space for you to express, explore and create what you need to support you.
Relationship and Intimacy
Many of us struggle to relate to others, to be open, honest and authentic in our responses. We will look at any difficulties you experience in relating to others, be it your partner, work colleague, or family. We will try to uncover unhelpful patterns in personal relationships and look at ways to change and reform these for you - so that your personal life truly supports and inspires you. Intimacy is a struggle; to be seen and valued for who you are can take courage and risk. You will be offered all the support you need.
I work with all personal difficulties in relationship. Relationship breakdowns, family struggles and elderly support, struggles within partnerships, those in a long-term partnership or marriage, or those wishing to alter their personal lives. Struggles within parenting. All relationship identities welcomed, and sexual orientations, lgtbq, kink-friendly.
I hold a safe, non-judgemental approach to all in this work and all aspects of intimacy, including those seeking a stronger relationship with the self and soul.
Anxiety and Self-Esteem
All your feelings will be valued and explored in a supportive space. A space where you can tell the most difficult things, sadness and distress, often a part of life - and look to re-evaluate and support yourself fully.
We will look at techniques to cope with anxiety and stress and ways to come to terms with inner conflict, based on self-acceptance and understanding. Focusing on how you learn to cope and then thrive, in our increasingly busy world and its demands.
How do we really value ourselves and then those around us? Giving ourselves time and prioritising our needs can be a challenge at first. We will look together at what you want to achieve and what is not supporting you to reach personal goals. We will discuss your fulfilment and values, to help you create a satisfying and supportive environment. Wendy offers a safe, gentle approach to support your development.
Children and Young People
'Wendy has 25 years experience of working with children and young people, both as a Psychotherapist and Teacher. Wendy can work creatively to assist the young person to express and tackle any areas that they may need support with: from school, to family environments to issues related to identity and personal distress. She has worked with the neuro-diverse and those with educational needs.
Writing, image making or assisting with aspects of study and education can be drawn upon.
Wendy offers a supportive, kind and genuine approach based on her experience within various educational settings and therapeutic approaches. Wendy will work with children from 12 years to young adults and full-time students.'
Feedback on my practice ...'She’s broad-minded, non-judgmental and inclusive. She has up to date
awareness of the many ways adults can relate and engage with each other, and has curiosity
about how people live and the choices they make. She’s not fazed by identity particulars and
can hold the clients compassionately and effectively with regard to what is troubling them.'

“It’s not what you look at what matters, it’s what you see”
Henry David Thoreau
